Pool Builders in Northam, WA
Your Local Northam Pool Builders
Countrywide Pools is a Northam family business. Not a metro company that services Northam — an actual Northam business, with the showroom in town, the team living locally, and family that's been part of this community for a long time. When you deal with us, you're dealing with neighbours.
We've spent more than 20 years installing fibreglass pools across Northam and the wider Avon Valley, with over 400 pools in the ground across regional WA. We know Northam blocks, Northam ground and the Shire of Northam process because we work here every day.
The result is a pool that genuinely makes the most of where it is. The property runs as an AirBnB now — Meadow View — and on a still morning guests wake up to hot air balloons drifting over the valley while they're in the pool. Not a bad way to start the day.
The project went on to win a 2025 SPASA award for Fibreglass Pool up to $40,000 — recognition we're proud of, on a build right here in Northam.
"I found Countrywide Pools Northam a pleasure to do business with. I couldn't be happier with the service I have received from beginning to final installation." — Meg Smart, Meadow View, Northam WA
Northam Project: Project Meadow View
One of our favourite recent Northam builds sits up on the Golf Course estate, on the outskirts of town with sweeping views right across the valley.
The owners were building a new Hamptons-style home with Stallion Homes, and wanted a pool that belonged with it. The block sloped, so the design worked with the fall rather than against it: an 8m x 4m pool set into multiple levels, retaining walls, and steps leading down into the pool area. We designed the pool house into the space as well, so the whole area worked as one.
We Know Northam Ground
Northam is a bit of a tale of two sites. The townsite itself is typically rocky and turbulent ground — digging in town often throws up surprises. Out on the outskirts, like the golf course estate, the ground is hard but generally not as rocky.
This is exactly why local experience matters. A builder who doesn't dig in Northam regularly tends to quote for an easy block and then add the extras once the rock appears. We quote the other way — we allow for excavator digs upfront and own the gear to handle it, including a 10-tonne and 5-tonne excavator with rock-breaking attachments. We'd rather get the quote right the first time.
In 20+ years of Northam installs, we've yet to hit a block we couldn't get a pool into.
We also handle the council and shire paperwork as part of our process, so you're not chasing it yourself. One thing specific to Northam worth knowing: properties within the Northam townsite require an Infrastructure Bond as part of the building licence application. Beyond that it's a standard process — and one we deal with regularly, so we know what the Shire of Northam needs.

FAQ’s
-
A fully installed fibreglass pool generally falls between $30,000 and $120,000+, depending on the pool size, your site conditions and any extras like fencing, heating or fit-out. Northam sites vary — a townsite block with rock is a different job to a clear block on the outskirts — so we quote properly upfront rather than giving a vague figure. For a detailed breakdown, see our pool cost guide on the blog.

It depends where you are. The Northam townsite is typically rocky and turbulent ground, so digging in town often turns up surprises. On the outskirts the ground is hard but generally not as rocky. We allow for excavator digs upfront and carry rock-breaking gear on site, so it's handled as part of the normal dig — no surprise extras.

Properties within the Northam townsite require an Infrastructure Bond as part of the building licence application. Otherwise it's a standard approval process. We handle the shire and council paperwork for you, so it's not something you need to chase yourself.

Once we're on site, a fibreglass pool install generally takes 2-4 days depending on site conditions and weather. The full process from enquiry to swimming usually runs 3-9 months once you factor in design, approvals, manufacturing and scheduling.
